DLD010 – STRUGGLE AT THE SNUGGLE FACTORY: “Eyes and Fire”

This relaxed and sensual concept album follows the year of 2011 from beginning to end, the ending being the front cover portrait with real and fake fire from candle flame and fake fireplace video-loop taken by Demian Rufus’ webcam on Christmas Night.

“Love’s Pursuin Its Own Ends” pastiches in Felix Guattari’s post-structuralist concepts from recently translated “The Machinc Unconscious: Essays In Schizoanalysis” with Demian Rufus’ own original lyrics experientially based on a collection of general concepts from Deleuze and Guattari to express his own struggles or torments in understanding concepts of love in relation to constructing collective machinic assemblages.

Also then is featured a cover of a Christmas Eve song by Tor Lundvall from his “Yule” album, projecting Demian Rufus’ own melancholic remembrances of sweet, past loves and dreamy hypnotic loneliness around the holiday season.

This movement then takes him into moody yet affirmative songs that reflect the “fear ov painful love”. This deterritorialized line of flight is one on which Demian Rufus can then furthermore explore an abyss of dark sides of social realities, especially “the gay ghettos and their stupid mythologies”, and rough n tough reality factors around sexuality [Hey Mr. Sexuality, Go Fukk Yrself! [Cuz Ya Sukk!], chivalrous and courtly forms of Loves, morality issues around public sex, adult video stores, and porno in stereo.

In comparison to the public sex is the private sex, or even private over-coded subjective scene, where the over-coded internet unfortunately yields a very impossibly overly-subjektive redundancy and resonance, ["No More Passive-Aggressive Types, Please!"]

Then further down into fear via a very situationist or Lynchian “drifting, meandering, wandering”, saved by the revolutionary Noise of “possible forms of communism”, and especially his own passionate Eyes as a sacred gaze in existential-meditative relation to primordial Fire during a very emotio-political season of the year when the production of subjective interiorizations become the necessary stratifications down or thru which lines of flights carry or perilously propel one to come out the other side of what would had been a structuralist death drive or black hole effect.
